The Volkswagen Amarok is a more efficient addition to the pick-up market, with common rail diesel units that bring new levels of refinement to the sector and technical specifications that prove it is more efficient, yet just as powerful, as rivals that use larger capacity units.
"One of the most practical pick-ups, the Volkswagen Amarok has a large load bay as well as a strong engine and good ability off-road." - WhatCar? review.
Boasting the lowest CO2 emissions in the sector, the Volkswagen Amarok is the first pick-up to break the 200 g/km threshold. The 2.0-litre TDI 122PS engine available in Startline specification, produces 199g/km, while the 163 PS Bi-turbo model has a CO2 emissions figure of 209 g/km. Fuel economy reaches up to 37.2 mpg, which gives the vehicle a theoretical range of over 650 miles.
The outstanding green credentials do not detract from performance though. The Amarok offers a huge amount of pulling power that is matched by an impressive towing weight of up to 2,800kg for the Highline model with permanent 4MOTION or 2,690kg for models with selectable 4MOTION.
All Amaroks have standard Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) to avoid skidding, plus Hill Hold Assist (HHA) to prevent slides on hill starts, and Hill Descent Control (HDC) to ease Amarok down steep descents.
The only way to discover what the Volkswagen Amarok is really like is to take a test drive. We would be delighted to arrange this for you (either from the showroom, your office or home).
