Showcased at the 35th Worthersee meeting, a spectacular Golf GTI dubbed ‘Heartbeat’ has been introduced to the rally-loving public.
The brainchild of 12 trainees from Volkswagen and Sitech Sitztechnik, the Golf GTI Heartbeat features a 400 PS (295 Kw) engine, a 1,360-watt sound system, LED lighting and truly eye-grabbing aesthetics.
Dipped in reflex silver metallic paint with bold, contrasting GTI honeycombs in tornado red, the car is immediately distinct; a grey foil gives a further accent to the roof and front end, making the vehicle completely unmissable on the track.
The apprentices who created the Golf GTI Heartbeat are training for a variety of roles, including vehicle interior fitting, vehicle painting, automotive mechatronics, product design and plastic engineering. Working as part of the Volkswagen Vocational Training Project, the apprentices were able to put their skills in action and gain further knowledge of their expert fields, producing the ninth GTI project vehicle to be seen at Worthersee since 2008.
