The new SLC will be priced from £30,495 for an entry-level SLC 200 Sport, with a choice of four engine types, alongside a six-speed manual gearbox or 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission.
The SLC 250 d is the most fuel-efficient in the range, with a 2.1-litre diesel engine and CO2 emissions of a mere 114 g/km, while the Mercedes-AMG SLC 43 will offer emissions of just 178 g/km – That’s almost 20 g/km less than the SLK 55 AMG which stood before it.
Two model lines will be on offer – Sport and AMG. All will feature re-designed halogen headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights, new sports exhaust system, sports pedals, LED tail lights, Active Brake Assist, Attention Assist, Active Bonnet, chrome-plated twin exhaust system, remote boot lid release and Headlamp Assist. Sport models will include 17-inch five-spoke alloy wheels as standard, while the AMG Line will feature 18-inch AMG multi-spoke alloys.
The trim inside the new SLC will either be a light carbon-grain (SLC 200, 300 and 250d), while the 43 will sport a dark equivalent.
For £765, customers can opt for a Keyless Go package, including an automatic boot separator, which automatically lowers when the user lowers the roof.
The new Mercedes-AMG SLC 43 is the nippiest of the range, with a 3.0-litre V6 biturbo engine, allowing incredible speed of 0 to 62 mph in 4.7 seconds, while the top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph. Standard equipment on this model will also include AMG performance steering, AIRSCARF neck-level heating, PARKTRONIC parking guidance and LED Intelligent Light System.
