The first all-aluminium four-cylinder diesel engine from Mercedes-Benz will make its debut in Spring 2016 as part of the new E-Class. The innovative build is set to transcend all previous standards of efficiency and emission control, as well as being lighter and more compact than previous generations.
Staying true to its goals of sustainable mobility, Mercedes-Benz hope to be trailblazer in reducing the overall amount of CO2 from traffic, as well as remaining impressively economical.
Since 1995, the average consumption of a Mercedes-Benz passenger car has almost halved, with 108 models boasting an A or A+ efficiency label. Continuously improving, the new E-Class will have 13 percent lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, while still increasing its output by 18 kW.
