21/01/2016: With three manufacturing plants on British soil, JLR have produced over 500,000 vehicles on home turf. This is triple the output of 2009 and is predicted to keep on growing, with exceptional investment in new products to meet the high demands of global trade.
Jaguar Land Rover has seen its workforce double to 35,000 people in 5 years, as well as being named the best place to work in Britain by Bloomburg.
SMMT have announced that UK car manufacture has had its most successful year in a decade, producing 1,587,677 vehicles in 2015. JLR has been a flagship of this accomplishment, pouring generous resources into its three British plants, based in Solihull, Birmingham and Liverpool. This has resulted in 11 new and revamped cars being brought to the market, including the Jaguar XE and XF, as well as the Land Rover Discovery Sport.
Across the pond in America, Land Rover was announced as the fastest growing car brand in the country, thus cementing its global appeal. Over 80% of JLR’s UK-based production is exported overseas and this trend is set to continue, with both the Jaguar F-PACE and Range Rover Evoque Convertible to hit the market in 2016.
Jaguar Land Rover fully intend to keep investing in its global production strategy, with a further £3bn in products and facilities to be injected into the expansion of Whitely and Gaydon R&D centres, as well as numerous sites across their network.
