Euro NCAP have announced that the Jaguar XE has been rated the safest Large Family Car on the market, after racking up some impressive results in their stringent crash testing. This is the latest in a string of victories for the XE, including being shortlisted for 2016 European Car of the Year.
The XE scored a notable 92% in NCAP’s rigorous trials, with full points being awarded in the side barrier impact test for adult protection. The XE may be lightweight, but the strength and rigidity of its aluminium-intensive bodywork has certainly given it the competitive edge with regard to passenger security.
The XE also gave a stellar show of reliability when it came to the categories of safety assist, pedestrian protection and child occupant protection. With impressive on-board safety technology such as Autonomous Emergency Braking being sold as standard, the XE couldn’t fail to inspire.
Setting a strong benchmark for safety and economy, the XE also has an extremely low cost of ownership, with the ultra-low 99g/km CO2 emissions of the 2.0-litre 163PS Ingenium diesel engine. A solid investment for buyers, valuation experts CAP also predict that the XE will retain 45% of its value after 3 years or 30,000 miles.
Extensively praised by both customers and the media, the Jaguar XE continues to fight off tough competition in its class and remain one of the top picks for both private and fleet buyers alike.
The only way to discover what the Jaguar XE is really like is to take a test drive. We would be delighted to arrange this for you (either from the showroom, your office or home).
