Jaguar Land Rover opens factory in Brazil

A £240m Jaguar Land Rover manufacturing facility has opened in Rio de Janeiro, specialising in the build of Range Rover Evoque and Discovery Sport models; this move away from British soil is intended to strengthen JLR’s impact across the globe, as well as being the first UK automotive group to secure roots in Latin America.

The new plant will feature a ground-breaking Education Business Partnership Centre, offering up to 12,000 children a year the opportunity to learn more about JLR, sustaining development of potential new talent; the brand remain enthusiastic about enriching the local communities where their plants are focal.

JLR have had a solid market in Brazil for the past 25 years, with the first five months of 2016 enjoying an 11% rise in sales. The brand currently have 35 dealers across the main territories of the country, with the output of the new plant hoping to further enhance demand.
