May of 2016 has shown itself to be the strongest on record for the BMW Group, with 198,354 vehicles sold across the globe; that’s a 5.3% rise on May of last year.
To date, the BMW Group have delivered 935,288 vehicles to new owners, which is a 5% increase on the same five-month period in 2015. The BMW brand alone has shifted 797,457 cars around the world (up 5%), while MINI have sold a respectable 136,617 units (up 5.2%).
Plug-in hybrid vehicles, in particular, are picking up momentum for BMW; the BMW i8 has been placed at the top of its class at the International Engine Awards, for a second consecutive year. Alongside this, the BMW 5 Series has also received a recent accolade at the Honest John Awards, where it was named ‘Most Popular Large Premium Car’. In addition, Autocar have hailed the BMW M2 as its ‘Game Changer’, in reference to the excellent performance of the luxury saloon; setting an unprecedented standard, the M2 is cited to be the best of its kind in the current generation.
