01/12/15: BMW Group and Oxford Brookes University have teamed up to produce a new degree programme, committed to bringing knowledgeable, fresh talent to the motor sector. The unique course, BSc (Hons) Business and Automotive Management, offers contemporary knowledge of the industry, alongside a seasoned passion for business. Currently accepting applicants, OBU and BMW are excited to present four years of industry-based learning to a pool of capable students, with the intention of producing graduates that are desired by prestigious employers from the get-go.
The course is extremely varied, with the first year being spent at Oxford Brookes’ campus and the second at OTH Regensburg, Technical University of Applied Sciences, Germany. The third year then comprises of two six-month work placements with the BMW Group Plant Regensburg and the MINI Oxford plant, before settling back at Oxford Brookes for the fourth year.
The course has been designed to reflect the changing climate with which jobseekers are faced, providing graduates with the resources required to be of immediate attraction to increasingly selective employers. The growing demand for candidates who are equipped with both textbook knowledge and practical experience has made partnerships between Higher Education Institutions and prestigious companies extremely sought-after, with career opportunities becoming all the more likely with this kind of educational background.
OBU and BMW have a strong collaborative history of successful Higher Education courses, from apprentice training, foundation degrees and research and development activities, such as the MINI E trials. Programmes which are supported by BMW are designed with their own employment needs in mind, with all Business and Automotive Management students completing an engineering module to help them understand the technical side of business, which is required for all BMW Group graduate employees.
