The order books for the highly-anticipated Audi A4 Allroad are expected to open in April, with the first models to meet their new owners in June.
The 2.0 TFSI with 252 P S will be the first engine to be enhanced by quattro ultra-technology, with the permanent all-wheel drive offering superb power distribution, as well as cutting 4kg in weight.
Major gains in efficiency are a primary objective of the new quattro all-wheel drive system, with the technology expected to be rolled out to future models in due course. The system will deactivate all-wheel drive when not required, while still ensuring that it’s available in an instant; this is a major contributor in potentially reducing fuel consumption and keeping in line with this core objective. A self-locking centre differential which diverts torque to the wheels also offers better traction, alongside 34mm of extra ground clearance, for impeccable performance off-road.
The latest driver assistance will also feature on the Audi A4 Allroad; adaptive cruise control with traffic jam assist and predictive efficiency assist will help to reduce fuel consumption by up to 10%, using navigation data to adjust the cruise control system’s preselected speed. Drive time is thus kept safe, comfortable and economic, with an emphasis on reducing stress in slow-moving traffic.
